Welcome to the online registration portal for the 9th All Africa University Games 2018 to be hosted by Mekelle University in the City of Mekelle, Ethiopia. The General program is expected to run from 1st - 8th July 2018, but actual competition running for 5 days from 2nd – 6th.
- Eligibility: Athletes must be registered students of the same university aged at least 17 and less than 28 years of age on January 1st in the year of the event (23yrs for 3X3 Basketball and 25yrs for Soccer/football). The games program includes Athletics, Badminton, 3x3 Basketball, Basketball, Chess, Football, Volleyball, Handball, Table Tennis and Tennis.
- World University League Finals: 3x3 Basketball (2men & 2 Women – China 2018) and Soccer (2 Men & 1 Women – China 2019) shall qualify teamsfor the World University League Finals and have all flight and accommodation costs covered.

Mekelle University is found at the town of Mekelle in Tigray region of Northern Ethiopia , at a distance of 783 Kilometers from the Ethiopian capital.
The merger the two former colleges: Mekelle Business College and Mekelle University College established the University in May 2000 by the Government of Ethiopia (Council of Ministers, Regulations No. 61/1999 of Article 3) as an autonomous higher education institution. The two colleges have their own historical developments after beginning from scratch, and have also experienced exhausting ascends and descends, with voluminous relocations from place to place.
About the Event Owner - Association of Uganda University Sports (AUUS)
The Association of Uganda University Sports (AUUS), formally National University Sports Federation of Uganda (NUSFU) was formed in 1992 by four higher institutions of learning namely Makerere, Mbarara University of Science and Technology, Institute of Teacher Education Kyambogo, Islamic University in Uganda.
The brain child behind NUSFU by then was the then Principal Sports Tutor of Makerere University, Mr. Era N.B Mugisa. He founded NUSFU on the basis of the World University Federation statutes that require every country under the Olympic movement with institutions of higher learning to have the national sports federation to champion sports development in the Universities.
Our membership has grown from 4 to the current 27. For the years of existence AUUS has organized a number of the inter-university games hosted by member institutions including; Makerere University, Kyambogo University, Mbarara University of Science & Technology, Islamic University In Uganda, Ndejje University, Nkumba University, and Uganda Christian University.
